Understanding Safeguarding Children and Adults
Tier 2

This course is designed to give participants knowledge and understanding around safeguarding children and adults.  All new employees should complete this training course within the first 6 month of employment within a Childcare setting or within the Early Years sector.

Participants who choose to attend a TEAM’s session will need access to ensure they can access Microsoft Teams and have good internet connection throughout the course. The participant will need to use a suitable device with a camera and microphone.

On completion of the session, task/activities sheets will be distributed by email. These must be completed and returned to cookl1@caerphilly.gov.uk. Only then will the course certificate be issued.

Outcomes

  • Know own role in relation to safeguarding adults, children and young people from harm, abuse and neglect
  • Understand how individuals are protected from harm, abuse and neglect
  • Know how to recognise different types of harm, abuse and neglect
  • Understand the safeguarding requirements of the Social Services and Well Being (Wales) Act 2014
  • Know how to report concerns
