Children and Adults Safeguarding Training

Description

This basic level safeguarding training is a requirement for all childcare staff who come into contact with children, young people and families. All new employees should complete this training course within the first 6 month of employment.

This course will be delivered via Microsoft Teams. A suitable device and stable internet connection is important.

On completion of the session, task/activities sheets will be distributed by email. These must be completed and returned to cookl1@caerphilly.gov.uk. Only then will the course certificate be issued.

Outcomes

Topics covered include:

  • To alert practitioners of the indicators of abuse and neglect in children and adults.
  • Become aware of organisational policies and procedures.
  • Gain knowledge and clear understanding of how to report a concern and the process involved.
  • Understand the importance of listening to children and adults at risk and be able to follow the process in place to report a disclosure.
  • To have understanding of the legal duty to report that childcare practitioners have.
