Every child in the Caerphilly county borough has a named Health Visitor. Health Visitors are trained nurses who work closely with Early Years professionals to support children from the handover from your midwife to the first years of schooling (0-7 years).
Every child and family is offered a range of programme of support, called the Healthy Child Wales Programme. Lots of information on this including what to expect from your health visiting team can be found on the Health Visitors: Healthier Together (cymru.nhs.uk) website.
You can also follow the health visiting service on Twitter, Facebook , and Instagram for regular updates.
If you need to contact the Health Visiting Service call their central phone line 01633 431 685 to be put in touch with their teams throughout Gwent.
School Nursing is also included in the Healthy Child Wales Programme for school aged children. They provide support to school-aged children and young people and work closely with education, social care and other health professionals to help children and young people from age 4 to remain healthy and accessing education.
