This training session explores the essential role of observation and planning in supporting young children’s learning and development within early years settings. The session highlights how thoughtful, responsive approaches to observation and assessment can inform meaningful, child-centered planning.
Participants will consider different types of observation and how these can be used to understand children’s interests, strengths and next steps in learning. The session will also explore how planning can remain flexible and responsive, ensuring that provision is guided by children’s needs rather than fixed outcomes.
