Breastfeeding Welcome Scheme

Breastfeeding Welcome Scheme

The council are looking for businesses and premises across Caerphilly county borough to become breastfeeding welcome venues.

These venues will help to promote, protect and support parent’s right to breastfeed in public.

The council will provide businesses/ organisations with a welcome pack, which will provide a link to an online awareness session and a sticker to display in their buildings.

As well as supporting parents legal right to breastfeed in public, being part of the scheme offers businesses the benefit of free publicity, local promotion and potential new customers.

If a building displays this logo, it shows that the venue:

  • has completed a breastfeeding awareness session
  • is committed to being a breastfeeding welcome premises
  • supports breastfeeding in all areas open to the public
  • will not ask someone who is breastfeeding to move or to stop
