This professional learning opportunity will support practitioners in developing a deeper understanding of how meaningful engagement with the natural world enhances children’s learning, wellbeing, and overall development. Participants will reflect on current practice and explore effective approaches to creating rich outdoor and nature-connected learning experiences that are purposeful, inclusive, and responsive to children’s interests.
Course Outcomes
- Develop practitioners’ understanding of how meaningful engagement with the natural world supports children’s learning, wellbeing, and holistic development.
- Reflect on current practice and identify opportunities to enhance outdoor and nature-connected learning experiences within the setting.
- Explore approaches to creating inclusive, purposeful, and child-centred outdoor learning environments that respond to children’s interests and stages of development.
- Consider how nature-based experiences can promote curiosity, creativity, resilience, independence, and sustained engagement in learning.
- Share practical ideas and strategies to strengthen outdoor learning opportunities and encourage deeper connections with the natural environment.
