Play is essential for a child’s development and an important part of the learning process. Play-based interventions aim to improve socio-emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development of the child through guided interactive play.
Join In And Play (JIAP) is a specific play intervention provided by the Early Years team in Caerphilly.
It is aimed at:
The sessions involve a JIAP worker supporting your family and child through play-based activities specifically tailored to meet the needs of your child. They provide play techniques and advice that you can use at home to further promote your child’s development.
This session includes a ‘What Matters’ conversation with your family to find out what is important to you and any issues you may be having so that the right support can be offered.
Sessions can be delivered face to face, by telephone or video call.
Requests for support need to be made to the Early Years team, either online or by telephone.
