Description

This course is aimed to support the Inclusion Leads to confidently fulfil the duties within their role, to ensure that the setting is fully compliant with requirements of contracts including the ALNET Act 2018. The course will identify the roles and responsibilities of an Inclusion Lead and childcare setting/childminder and the processes and procedures that you will need to follow.
The course will explain how to use a person centred approach, what paperwork is needed to be completed by the Inclusion Lead/ Childcare Setting staff and how to ensure the setting is compliant with the Early Years Graduated Response. How to devise learning plans and create progress trackers for children who have additional needs in the setting. To be able to effectively identify strategies and interventions to be used to support children’s progression particularly for those who have been awarded enhanced provision and to ensure that they are receiving interventions that are “additional to and different from” other children in the setting.

Outcomes:

The participants will:

  • Be confident to fulfil your duties within their role and the childcare setting to ensure that the setting is fully compliant with contract requirements including the ALNET Act 2018.
  • Be clear on their roles and responsibilities within their role and that of the setting staff.
  • Be confident to devise learning plans and progress trackers being able to link these together to form evidence of the child’s progress over time and to submit for the Early Years Panel referral processes.
  • Be confident in effectively identifying strategies and intervention to be used to support children’s progression.
  • Be confident to arrange and facilitate transition “into” and “out of” the childcare settings using the transition meeting guidance document.
  • Be confident in support parents through the additional needs journey.
  • Be confident in understanding the Statutory PCP process and what is expected to be provided as part of this process from the setting perspective.
